Yarra Junction Optical provides comprehensive eyes examinations for the whole family and these eye tests are performed entirely by qualified Optometrists. There is no preliminary testing performed by Optical Dispensers prior to seeing the Optometrist which means your completely taken care of by your Optometrist through all the steps of your testing.
During your eye test your Optometrist will assess your vision and any spectacle correction that may be required, they will ask you about your day to day activities, any work or hobbies that you do in order to ascertain how this may affect your vision. They will then assess the health of your eyes to rule out or monitor any eye conditions that may be present such as Macula Degeneration, Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, Cataracts as well as many more eye diseases. Your Optometrist will then let you know the results of your vision, whether you will require any correction with glasses and/or contact lenses and the health of your eyes and any treatment or further eye testing that may be required. If you require glasses or contact lenses your Optometrist will be able to advise you what type of lenses and also frames would be the most suitable for your kind of work or hobbies. They will then pass this information on to one of our experienced Optical Dispensers so they can help you through the process of choosing a frame.
We bulk bill the majority of our eye examinations and if there is any additional testing recommended to you by our Optometrist it is entirely up to you if you want to go ahead with the tests at a small additional fee.
